Right Swimwear For Your Body Shape

Choosing the right swimwear for your body shape:

Shopping for swimwear can be daunting for any woman. Even when you’re toned, waxed and evenly tanned, venturing under the bright lights of the department store changing-room can be an unforgiving experience.

Why not cut out half of the guesswork this season and shop like a swimwear pro with this guide to choosing the right swimsuit style for any body shape.

Fuller bust

If you have a fuller bust it’s important to buy women’s swimwear that offers enough support to be comfortable and flattering. Most current swimwear designers offer a plus-sized bust range of swimwear that’s more flattering on a larger chest than the classic triangle bikini.

It’s also a good idea to consider thick, padded straps as they offer more comfort than the traditional string-tie. This summer, why not try a halter neck style, which will flatter your assets without making you appear too top heavy.

Small up top

If you’re smaller up top, choose a bikini style that embellishes and flatters what you do have. Frills, ruffles and fringes work as an optical illusion to draw attention and create volume on top, as do horizontal stripes in bold colours. Cute and playful triangle bikini styles are also perfect for a smaller physique.

Finally, if you’re really worried about your slender figure then don’t be afraid to opt for a bit of padding to create shape and volume. There’s nothing wrong with getting a bit of extra help.

If you’re apple shaped

For curvier body shapes, don’t try to hide behind too much fabric. Instead, use bold, bright colours and daring prints to show off your confidence and personality.

If you’re conscious about a particular part of your body, think about ways to draw attention away from it.

If it’s your tummy that worries you, consider a tankini style. These are also available with support control panels to disguise any lumps and bumps. If you have a curvy lower half, show it off with flattering boy leg bikini bottoms or draw attention away from this area by wearing a one-piece with a plunging neckline.

Added extras

Another great option is adding a sarong to your swimwear outfit. Sarongs not only add beautiful feminine colour, they also offer some extra confidence by covering up problem areas, such as hips and thighs.

Remember that sarongs can also be worn in a range of styles, with larger sarongs transforming into a fabulous haltered maxi dress.
