Five Fashion Trends This Rainy Season

Summer is almost over and before you know it, school has already begun. Soon enough, home works and research papers will replace your time allotted for spontaneous beach trips and random hangouts in your friend's house. Here in the Philippines, despite having the "Endless Summer" type of temperature that we have always been accustomed to, we cannot discount the fact that as the end of May approaches, the rainy season also begins. It has always been easy in summer: slip into something sleeveless and distressed shorts, and you're good to go. But how do you stay fashionable in the rainy season?

FashionProtective gear
Carry protective gear. This is one of the old man's tales. Bring an umbrella with you wherever you go. Nobody wants to be drenched in the rain just before you run for your next class. You wouldn't want to burn your skin while doing errands for your sick boss. In a country like the Philippines where the whether is rather deemed as unpredictable, everyone should always carry a foldable umbrella with them. You can also bring a cute raingear if you find it taxing to hold an umbrella. Rain gears aren't for kindergarteners alone anymore. Find one that suits your personality and age. You might find the SpongeBob Square pants-inspired really cute but your officemates might simply be annoyed.

Wear shorts, skirts, capris. People usually wear jeans during the rainy season but few realize that the hem of their pants gets soaked in the rainwater, and the water even goes up the garment. So why don't you try wearing something whose hem does not fall to the ground like shorts, skirts, or capris? Just be sure to wear something covered for the top to keep it classy and decent.

Bring waterproof bags.
Just because leather bags are made of leather doesn't mean you can use them at any given time and weather. During this season, opt for something more practical such as nylon totes. You may also want to stash in some ziplock bags just in case you need a place to put your mobile phones, wallets or other gadgets for more protection.

Wear light makeup. Whether it be the rainy season or the dry season, it is always better to wear light or no makeup unless necessary. Bacteria are easier to multiply in wet season that is why you should always keep your brushes clean and avoid too much contact between your hands and face.

Rain BootsWear fashionable boots. Of course, you don't want to soak
those Torys in the rain or mud. So why don't you slip on something as fashionable like boots? Flip flops aren't always law-abiding when it comes to school or office dress codes and no matter how comfortable they are, you will never look good in them unless you are at the beach. Flip flops are also a choice of many who are commuting but don't you think it is much better to wear boots and save yourself from all the trouble and worry that you might have stepped into an animal's pee or something? True enough, your feet are the most abused part of the human body so protect it and take extra care of it.
Rain is often associated with depression, lethargy and tardiness but it doesn't mean that you have to be depressed, lethargic and lazy during this time. You always have to bear in mind that you can always be sunny even in the midst of the rainy season, and this will begin in the way you perceive yourself, and how you project yourself to others. The rainy season should not rob you the opportunity chance to be fashionable and to enjoy the season. To top it all, always carry with you a cheery personality and a warm smile as if to say, "No, rain, you can't bring me down."

Arien Bloggers Meet-up

Hey beautiful ladies! I just had to make a new blog post because I miss doing so and the other reason too is that, I had a wonderful day yesterday meeting another beautiful co-blogger. I met Jannah of http://jannahmarielopez.blogspot.com/ and wow I was really stunned by her pretty face.

We first encounter through twitter or YouTube (not sure) but either way we got a long easily because there are things that we can relate with especially that we are both a graduate of Nursing but she's licensed and me...let's see! We are supposed to meet today, Jan 30, 2012 but was resched because I had my interview this day so we decided to have it on Jan 29, 2012 which was yesterday. I told her that we are going to meet at SM North but then she said we're going to transfer at Trinoma so that it will be easy for them to access the MRT station so I agreed since the two malls are just across each other's, I had no problem for that.

Top 4 Fashionistas

Hey everyone!  Pardon me if I'm missing out here in my blog and hope you won't get tired of checking my blog. I have pending posts and I still have to take photos of the products that needs to be uploaded in my new blog post which will probably be posted next week or this weekend. I missed blogging and this is the only hobby that I love to do aside from tweeting and tumblogging

So anyway, I'm just going to talk about the 4 fashionistas I love to check the most because every time they have a new post, I never fail to check them out. In fact, they are in my blogroll so that i'll never miss out new posts from them. I'm not a fashionista person nor a makeup professional but every time I read blog that it's all about fashion, I come to think of what if I do it like her style and etc. I just love how they mix and match and everything from plain to print, from head to toe and everything!

First of is Dulce Tejeda or known as Dulce Candy both on YouTube and web because of her feminine style. Dulce always dreamt of being a school teacher. Now 24 years later she teaches millions of followers on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter her beauty and fashion secrets. With currently over 100 million views on YouTube, Dulce Candy has become one of the top fashion and beauty icons for the social media generation. Dulce Candy accredits her independence and strength as a woman to her experience in the Army. In 2006, as a personal challenge to herself, Dulce impulsively decided to join the army working as a Mechanic. Although her experience in the Army was a positive and rewarding one, Dulce found herself becoming very defeminized; wearing the same uniform day in and day out and not being able to display or express her passion for fashion. It was finally in 2008 when she quickly discovered that the internet was a tremendous outlet for her to express her femininity and love of fashion. One evening, Dulce came home from a long day at work took off her uniform, turned on the camera, and just began talking about nothing other than girl stuff; makeup, fashion, and shopping.   Consequently the phenomenon we now know as Dulce Candy was created.

Secondly, Wendy also know as  Wendyslookbook both on YouTube and her Fashion Blog.   Wendy find inspiration in art, nature, culture, architecture, food, people, and music. And for me, fashion is a compilation of all that. Fashion is a vehicle for me to play with shapes and colors in order to uncover my personal style. Even though I’m inspired by images I see on the runways, I’m more captivated by images I see on the streets. Like music and art, fashion and style are forms of creative self-expression, where each of us are architects creating unique designs and looks.. Throughout my sophomore to senior year in college, I volunteered as a counselor at the Berkeley Free Clinic providing mental health services to the homeless community and also as a visiting teacher at Harding Elementary working with underprivileged students.  After college, I continued to work with marginalized communities, mainly as an educator.  I volunteered at the San Francisco Juvenile Detention Center, working with incarcerated youths in the maximum security unit, for over a year and a half.   Most of these youths, like me, were from broken homes and/or foster care.  I taught the high school curriculum with the goal of helping these youths pass the high school exit exam, so they’ll have a second chance in life once they leave juvenile hall.

Camille Co would have to be one of my favorite fashion/stylist blogger of all the fashion bloggers in Philippines. I simply love her style, her beautiful face, her cute voice. I once heard her voice in one of the videos I've watched and it's so cute! Camille Co is a full Chinese and a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University last 2009. She's the owner and designer of Coexist a young, high-street RTW line for women.

Here's my last fave fashion/stylist blogger, Kryz Uy. I'm not sure if she's Cebuana or not but either way I like her. Those smiles are just so beautiful and her petite size. Kryz is a graduate of Ateneo too and she's a Freelance Stylist, Freelance Writer and an occasional model. Don't you just like that smile that brightens up your day?Well, I do! ☺

So you've read my Top 4 Fashionistas- 2 from California and 2 from Philippines. I want to meet these ladies and have picture with them. These ladies are my inspiration in life and I may not become like their body sizes, rest assured I will pursue and work hard so that I can be successful as they are now.
